A San Antonio family lost three generations of lives over the weekend in a tragic car accident.

“It’s very, very hard loosing five people at one time,” Angel Mackey, the sister-in-law of one of the victims, told mySA.com.

Clay Ayala, 43, and Jamica Mackey Ayala, 39, were killed on their way to Houston along with Mackey Ayala’s grandson, Dondre Greenwood Jr., Two, and nephews, Demauriae Scott, 8, and Tommie Dotray, Five.

Mackey said that the family was planning on spending some time together over the summer when tragedy struck.

On June 24, a dually truck allegedly side swept the family’s vehicle, causing it to spin into a ditch, Mackey said.

According to a report by News4SA, rain is believed to have played a factor in the crash.

“We’re just attempting to make it through one day at a time,” Mackey said.

The Mackey family has set up a gofundme page to help pay for the funeral expenses.
